Juniel now isn′t the sad girl she used to be. She′s tried on a brighter image, and she′s enjoying every second of the change.

Juniel′s third mini album Fall in L, released most recently by the singer, is completely different from her previous sad albums.

Why did she change?

With the change in the album came the change in Juniel′s mystic image. Her new, bouncy, cute transformation came naturally as a part of the change in her music.

"I′ve sung sad songs all this time. This time, I wanted to try singing a bright song. It′s spring, and people tended to see me as a gloomy person. I′m actually not at all like that (Laugh)."

Of course, singers′ moods change with the mood of their music. While she was promoting her debut single Illa Illa a year ago, Juniel said she was gloomy at the time, adding, "If I had released another song like Illa Illa this time, I would′ve felt gloomy all year."

The ′L′ in her album′s title Fall in L stands for both Juniel and love. The title thus translates to ′fall in Juniel′ or ′fall in love′.

The tracks of the album are, accordingly, all sweet and bouncy. Her promotional single Pretty Boy, as well as the tracksDate, Sleep Talking and My Lips, are said by officials to effectively express Juniel′s lovely charms.

For the first time in her life, Juniel tried out dancing onstage. Her cute dance, nicknamed the ′hallo hallo dance′, was inspired by the lyrics from the chorus of Pretty Boy. The dance involves Juniel waving cutely at her audience.

Juniel said about the dance that it′s "so simple you can′t call it a dance," but fans have been going crazy over it.

She′s especially being praised for trying something new, following her more sadder performances with Illa Illa and Bad Man.

Juniel herself came to feel a newfound respect toward drummers.

"I learned a lot while trying to dance for the first time. It wasn′t easy. I had to play my guitar, dance and put on fitting expressions at the same time.. I don′t know how I got through my performances. (Laugh) Drummers must really have a hard time whenever they perform. They have to move their hands and feet separately.. I just suddenly realized this while attempting to dance onstage."

More changes are coming

Fans have been showing explosive reactions toward the new look. Juniel also aims for keeping her music outside of the frame.

When asked what kind of music she likes, she answered, "I′m not picky; I like all genres."

Thanks to the way she dreamed of becoming a singer since she was in middle school, she seemed to be ready to take on new genres and new types of music.

She did, however, have something she just wouldn′t let go of.

"No matter what I sing, I will never let go of my guitar in my life. My guitar is like my partner in music."

Although cherry blossoms knew the right time to bloom and blew snow away, the spring came pretty late this year. In the end of April, in the morning and at night, you still have to pop your collar. This late spring was good for her. JUNIEL worked for a song for ’2013 spring’ since last December. As her comeback was delayed for a month, she was worried that ’spring should not go very fast.’ Despite her worry, spring wind and a little warm sunshine waited for her. On April 24, we met ‘spring girl’ JUNIEL, who just released her 3rd mini album ‘Fall in L’.

If you see the tracks in the album, such as title song ‘Pretty Boy’, and ‘Date’, ‘Sleep Talking’ and ‘My Lips’, you could suspect that ‘Did JUNIEL fall in love?’. JUNIEL, who was suffering from a sad breakup (in songs), this time whispers “I like pretty boy more than nice boy like a movie actor,” showing cuteness. Before her comeback, she even ‘attacked’ an engineering college in Seoul where is full of boys. That was an active love expression of her, being different from what she was – like a modest girl -.

“I always had a hunger to try something new, but there was a bigger reason why I tried to change my image this time. I wanted to laugh while doing this activity. haha Singing sad songs, I didn’t appear on variety shows. So, I didn’t laugh ordinarily.”

As preparing for ‘Fall in L’ of sweet and lovely concept, JUNIEL, who has a personality to suit herself the atmosphere well, actually burst into laughter and couldn’t handle herself. Especially, when she recorded her self-composed song titled ‘Sleep Talking,’ she couldn’t keep from laughter and ruined a sequence many times.

 ‘Fall in L’ มีคอนเซปต์คือความหวานและน่ารัก  จูเนียลเป็นคนที่มีบุคลิกเหมาะกับบรรยากาศแบบนั้นอยู่แล้ว  เธอมักจะหัวเราะออกมาดัง ๆ แล้วก็ไม่อาจจะหยุดตัวเองได้  อย่างตอนที่เธอกำลังอัดเพลงที่เธอแต่งเองอย่าง ‘Sleep Talking’ เธอไม่สามารถหยุดหัวเราะได้และต้องอัดใหม่หลายต่อหลายครั้ง

“You know, you will automatically smile when you’re really happy. You can’t control it  even with the muscle around your mouth. haha It was the first time to laugh this hard with doing music work since I was a trainee.”

JUNIEL has got many both male and female fans, with the acoustic sound and sensibility based on her actual experience and deepened by her imagination. This time, JUNIEL even winks on stage. She is expecting that “this album would lead to me to have more male fan.” When you expect something, your goal will become clear. We asked her if she wishes everyone to fall for herself just like the album’s title.

“Ah, I don’t have a desire to win the first prize. I never see digital music charts. It is strange to classify a song as superior or inferior one when each song is in a different genre and has a different message. Keeping my original intention, I’m happy if even one person relate to my song. If I could wish one more thing this time, it would be great if there’s a reaction that ‘Is this JUNIEL?’ haha”

Come to think of it, JUNIEL (19 y/o, real name is Choi Jun Hee) always had a little sad face. She didn’t have a big laugh like others of her age or didn’t act cute. And it’s no wonder because JUNIEL always sang one-way love or sad song such as ‘illa illa’ and ‘Bad Man’.

“I really wanted to transform myself this time. Since I sang only sad songs, many people thought I was ‘a sad girl’ or ‘a depressed girl’. This time, I want to show a cute and bouncy look that suits my age and my personality. Above all, my bright lovely smile.”

Actually, JUNIEL’s smile is pretty and bright. Even when she sometimes gazes into space, she is a cute and lovely girl of 20 years old, who has never come down. The concept of this comeback is funky and cuteness, which suits her well like her own clothes. Also, it may be a surprise that she likes cherry blossoms and mountain climbing.

“I like cherry blossoms. I always go to see cherry blossoms with mother every year. There is my self-composition that is written in theme of cherry blossoms. It is included in my album recently released in Japan. I like mountains, too. My hobby is mountain climbing. When there is music work or practice, I often go and climb a mountain with friends. Or else, I’m lazy and relax in my home.”

JUNIEL introduced her new album that is full of transformation in her unique tone. She just made her comeback with her 3rd mini album titled ‘Fall in L’ on April 25. This time’s concept is ‘fresh and bouncy’. This new album is made under the slogan ‘Fall in Juniel’s charm’ and ‘Fall in love’. It includes 4 songs, such as the title track ‘Pretty Boy’, JUNIEL’s self-composition ‘Date’ and ‘Sleep Talking’.

“Actually, my ideal type is not ‘pretty boy’. But, because I imagined that my ideal type wears glasses and get a perm, I could put myself into the song well. The pretty boy in my song also seems to have a charm in his own way. When I sing the song, somehow I feel good and happy. My self-composed song titled ‘Date’ is 100% based on my imagination. When I meet a boyfriend, I will be surely like this.”

After her first love when she was really in love, she hasn’t been able to start her second love. She said it was because of the smarting pain of the first love. Requirements for the next love is that he has to be a real man with indomitable will enough to break through the wall in her mind. Among celebrities, her ideal type is actor Song Joong Ki and Lee Seon Kyun.

“My ideal type is a man with a classic charm, like those two. It would be great if he has an unexpected charm, too. If he laughs like a fool and then works enthusiastically all of a sudden, or if he wears jeans everyday and then appears in suits, he would be really charming. Most people did nothing but knocking my heart and disappeared. But, someday real love will come, right?”

What is lovableness for JUNIEL? “If you see, you will feel good and happy. Only by seeing it, you will smile. I think this is it.”

That lovableness is what JUNIEL has.

หลังจากรักครั้งแรกจูเนียลก็ไม่เคยตกหลุมรักอีก  เธอบอกว่าเพราะความเจ็บปวดจากรักครั้งแรก  ทำให้เธอตั้งเงื่อนไขถึงรักครั้งต่อไปว่า  เขาจะต้องเป็นผู้ชายที่จริงจังและไม่ย่อท้อที่จะทลายกำแพงในใจของเธอ  สเปคของเธอคือซงจุงกิและลีซอนคยุน

Singer JUNIEL (19, real name Choi Jun Hee) wished to experience singer Jo Jung Chi’s sitting life (to be lying in one’s home all day).

When JUNIEL was talking about her ideal type at interview with MyDaily, she suddenly brought up the story of Jo Jung Chi. Saying “talking about it, somehow Jo Jung Chi seems to be my ideal type.” and she laughed.

JUNIEL is a fan of MBC variety program ‘We got married’, which Jo Jung Chi and Jung In appear in. She told “I want to try his sitting life. Originally I was a little lazy and so I like lying in my home. I want to lie with playing the guitar and singing. It would be really good.” and “But, being a singer, I have a tight schedule and many things to do, so I cannot be like that,” saying regretfully.

Also, she added that “I saw Jo Jung Chi playing the guitar and doing music on TV, and he looked really different there. Usually he seems to be lying, but he is very charismatic when he sings. He seems to be a typical artistic man.”

ตอน ที่จูเนียลพูดถึงสเปคของเธอตอนที่สัมภาษณ์กับ MyDaily  เธอเล่าให้เราฟังเกี่ยวกับโจจงชิ  เธอบอกว่า "พอพูดถึงเรื่องนี้แล้ว  โจจงชิเป็นสเปคของฉันคะ"  แล้วเธอก็หัวเราะ 

จูเนียลเป็นแฟนรายการ "We got married"  ทางช่อง MBC  รายการที่โจจงชิและจงอินก็ไปร่วมรายการ  เธอบอกว่า "ฉันอยากใช้ชีวิตสบาย ๆ เพราะจริง ๆ แล้วฉันเป็นคนขี้เกียจนิดหน่อยคะ  แล้วก็ชอบที่จะนอนอยู่ที่บ้าน  อยากจะนอนเล่นกีต้าร์แล้วก็ร้องเพลงไปด้วย  มันต้องดีแน่ ๆ " แล้วก็พูดต่อว่า  "แต่การเป็นนักร้องทำให้ฉันมีตารางงานที่แน่นมากแล้วก็มีหลายสิ่งหลายอย่างที่ต้องทำ  ก็เลยทำแบบนั้นไม่ได้"  เธอพูดด้วยน้ำเสียงเศร้าสร้อย

เธอยังบอกอีกว่า "ฉันดูโจจงชิเล่นกีต้าร์แล้วก็ทำดนตรีทางทีวี  เขาดูแตกต่างมากจริง ๆ ดูเหมือนว่าปกติแล้วเขาจะชอบนอนแต่เขาก็มีสเน่ห์มากเลยเวลาร้องเพลง  เขาดูเป็นศิลปินมาก ๆ เลย"

JUNIEL and Jo Jung Chi are specially linked by a fate. Last December, JUNIEL appeared on KBS 2FM ‘Yoo In Na’s Volume Up’ and met Jo Jung Chi, who was also invited to the program. In that show, they showed a special stage that was a collaboration of their ad lib guitar playing.

She told “I was very happy to meet him, so I suggested him to take a picture together because I was his fan. Jo Jung Chi said ‘Yes’ with his unique expression and accepted soon. It was really good. I feel happy and uploaded it on twitter soon. Recently I saw him on TV advertisement. He is very charming,” with a shy smile.

JUNIEL released her 3rd mini album ‘Fall in L’ on April 25 and started her promotion with the title track ‘Pretty Boy’.

 จูเนียลและโจจงชิถูกเชื่อมโยงด้วยโชคชะตา  เมื่อเดือนธันวาคมที่ผ่านมา  จูเนียลไปรายการ KBS 2FM ‘Yoo In Na’s Volume Up’ แล้วก็ได้เจอกับโจจงชิที่มาเป็นแขกรับเชิญเช่นกัน  พวกเขาร่วมกันทำสเปเชียลสเตจด้วยการเล่นกีต้าร์ด้วยกัน

เธอบอกว่า " ฉันมีความสุขมากเลยที่ได้เจอเขา  ฉันได้ขอให้เขาถ่ายรูปด้วย  เพราะฉันเป็นแฟนของเขาค่ะ  โจจงชิตอบตกลงด้วยสีหน้าแปลก ๆ แต่แล้วก็เข้าใจในที่สุด  มันดีมาก ๆ เลย  ฉันมีความสุขมากแล้วก็รีบแชร์รูปผ่านทางทวิตเตอร์ทันทีเลย  เร็ว ๆ นี้ฉันเพิ่งดูเขาทางโฆษณาในทีวี  เขามีสเน่ห์มากเลย"  เธอพูดพร้อมรอยยิ้ม

จูเนียลวางแผงมินิอัลบั๊มที่สามของเธอ "Fall In L" เมื่อวันที่ 25 เมษายนและเริ่มทำการโปรโมทด้วยเพลง "Pretty Boy"
